Jambo Trio seeks in the Classic of Samba Jazz Trios from the 50s and 60s to unite elements of North American Jazz, Samba, Latin Jazz and Bossa Nova. It features a repertoire of authorial songs and composers that relate to this genre such as: Baden Powell, Moacir Santos, César Camargo Mariano, J. Meirelles, João Donato among others.
Jambo Trio has a classical formation: Jazz Piano Trio - piano, double bass and drums. On piano: Luis Henrique New, bass: Everson Vargas and Ricardo Arenhaldt on drums.
All members of Jambo Trio have an academic background in music and, in addition to performing on stage, they work as teachers in this area. The members of Jambo Trio have already had professional experiences in different corners of the world, such as Japan, Europe, Latin America and North Africa.
The group emerged in 2019 and continues to be increasingly referenced in Brazilian culture, with a repertoire of original songs and by some composers who inspired the creation of the sound of Jambo Trio.
After years of work and laboratory work, the three members of Jambo Trio feel ready to record an album of authorial music, as they have been presenting this repertoire at Jazz festivals and instrumental music events with great acceptance and success.
The diversity of musical experiences of the three members helps in the composition of the musical language of the Trio, which now breathes with its own sound full of personality.
The rereadings, when they happen, are already in tune with the language and conception of the Jambo Trio.
It's good to remember that Samba jazz trios served as the basis for several bossa nova and MPB artists.
The Jambo Trio consolidates itself day by day as an important group in the instrumental music scene and has participated in many events in cultural and institutional spaces.
In 2023, the group performed on two important stages, the International Jazz Day (an event conceived by pianist Herbie Hancock, which takes place annually worldwide) at Farol Santander and at the Poa Jazz Festival.
The group is also committed this year 2023 to doing eight concerts at Sixteen Jazz. Always inviting musicians and singers from the music scene and making varied repertoire as a tribute to Raul de Souza and Adão Pinheiro and bringing international musicians such as Ademir Cândido, Jorginho do Trumpete, Juliano Barreto and others.
